There were two thousand spectators at Nottingham to see the match between an English League team and the Australasians. The Englishmen won by five points to three.

England scored a try, which was converted in the first five minutes. An oven game followed. The Australasians, by oelevor passing, then threatened danger. After the interval Farnsworth scored for the visitors.
