A MATTER OF COUNTING. RETURNING OFFICER’S ALLEGED ERROR. PBESS ASSOCIATION. WAIMATE, - December ’ 6. An inquiry was commenced to-day before Mr Hutchison, S.M., into alleged informality in the recent election for members of the Waimate hospital committee. There was a tie between Messrs John Bitchena and Alfred Walker. One packet of voting papers being opened, this was found to bo tho case. Mr Walker, therefore, should have been declared elected. Other objections, however, have been, raised, and the inquiry has been adjourned till December 13th.
