A COOK’S TROUBLE
THE BIGHT TO WORK. Further evidence for plaintiff rvas heard at the Supreme Court, before Sir Robert Stout, Chief Justice, yesterday, in tho case of Chaplin v. Young and others. Pierre Chaplin, the plaintiff, is a ship’s cook, and he claims that, by the action of W. T. Young, secretary, and the Wellington section of the Australasian federated Seamen’s Industrial Union, ho has been prevented from obtaining employment. He claims -£l5O damages and an injunction prohibiting defendants from repeating any of their acts, and from interfering with plaintiff’s employment. Mr T. if. Wilford, with him Mr P. Levi, appears for plaintiff, and; Mr C. B. Dix for the defendants. After two witnesses had been examined the case was adj ourned to Friday next at noon, when further evidence for tho defence will be heard. -
