MR McLAREN’S MEETINGS. Mr D. McLaren (Labour) addressed pn open-air meeting at Hospital rend last evening, having an enthusiastic reception. Ho afterwards spoke to a massed gathering at Courtenay place. The audience was enthusiastic. Mr McLaren sketched the policy of the Labour party and made a direct challenge to his opponents to show that lie had neglected his duty as a member, or broken any of his pledges. Unanimous votes of thanks and confidence were passed, and hearty cheers wore given for tho candidate and Mrs McLaren. After his opponents had addressed the same audience Mr McLaren was sent for to speak again. The demonstration was repeated. DR A. K. NEWMAN’S CAMPAIGN. Dr A. K- Newman (Opposition) addressed about 200 electors in O’Donnell’s Hall, Kilbimio, last night. Mr J. J. Clark presided. Tho candidate said if Sir Joseph Ward remained in office, taxation would get larger and the people would not know where they were. . A vote of thanks and confidence was carried. MR BRODIB. Mr John Brodio addressed the electors at Victoria Hall, Adelaide road, last evening. -After answering questions ho was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence. MR BOLTON’S CANDIDATURE. Mr P. G. Bolton, the Government candidate for Wellington East, addressed four meetings of electors yesterday. Ho spoke at the head of tho wharf at midday and in tho evening at. the New Century Hall, which was crowded, i and subsequently at an ’ open-air meeting at Courtenay place, also at tho corner of Drummond street. At thy New Century Hall Mr W. J. Organ was chairman, and emphasised that the candidate was a good sport and deserving of the assistauce of all athletes. The candidate indicated briefly tiro lines of policy advocated by him in previous speeches. At each meeting he received votes of confidence, and the proceedings both at the New Century Hall and the meetings at Courtenay place and Adelaide road were signalised by great enthusiasm.
