Bertbelot, director of tbo Paris metropolitan railway, recommends tbe construction or a Trans-African railway from Algiers to Lake Chad (about 1600 miles south of Algiers), linking tbe Nigerian, Belgian, Congo, and Cape-to-Oairo lines.
