At a meeting of tho Christchurch AntiMilitarist League, arrangements wore mad© for the distribution of peace and antimilitarifit Literature in tho city electorates. Tho following motion was unanimously carried:—“That this meeting tenders its motrt emphatic protest against the scandalous admissions of the defence authorities concerning the prosecution of thoeo who had not registered under the Defence Act, wherein it is intended to prosecute only in special cases, and is of opinion that each conduct is a deliberate prostitution of the people's ideals of equity and justice."

Eailwaymen in Christchurch, interviewed on the subject o£ a probable strike of railway employees, scout the idea, and state that they had not heard even a suggestion of such an improbable and preposterous idea. A CHARGE OF BIGAMY. CHKISTCHUECH, October 11, Grace Annie HcTaggart pleaded guilty at the Macfetrate’s Coart to-day to a charge of bigamy. She was flxst married in' 1886, hut her husband lelt her. and she did not hear from him for thirteen years, and considered that she had a perfect right to marry Charles Ashby in 1906. She was committed for sentence to tho Supremo Court, and hail was allowed. FATAL SPARRING. GKETiIOGTH, October 11.
