TAUPO AND MOKAU
PAPIA AMTJNT ABY INQtTmiES. This morning the Parliamentary inquiry into the petition of the Taupo Totara Timber Company, for power to extend its railway and purchase a Largo area of native land, trill be continued by the Select Committee of the House of Representatives. Several departmental officers are to bo called to give evidence. The Native Affairs Committee will also sit this morning to take further evidence in connection with the Mokau allegations. It is understood that tho only purpose in reopening tho inquiry, which was declared closed a fortnight ago, is to permit certain questions to bo put to Mr Massey arising out of remarks made by him.
