Mr H. Hinds has sold his farm of 429 acres at Hinemoa to Mr J. Allan, of the Forty-Mile Bush.
Forty-seven chains of tho Waikaraka TO ad have been declared a county road. An effort is to be made to have the Mangatainoka river, between Nireaha and Hukanui. bridged. This is practically tho only stream of any size in the Forty-Mile Bush district that has not a bridge across it. Tho Masterton County Council has received from the Treasury a grant of dM<IO for the purpose of erecting a bridge and doing metalling on the Mangari road. A grant of £52 for metalling work on the Miki Miki road has also been received.
Mr George Attwood has sold his property at Hukanui to Mr J. Roberts. Mr Attwood was formerly farming in Masterton. Mr H. Pickering, of Masterton, has purchased a farm in the Hukanui district.
Though in many instances splendid lambing returns have been obtained in the district, the general run of percentages will Aot be very high; the average, it is estimated, will not ho above 85 to 90 per cent. The Masterton County Council has decided that Councillors Cameron and Beotham represent tho council at a conference of local bodies to bo held at Masterton on October 21st, to discuss tho uroposed establishment of an agricultural school in Wairarapa.
