MISCHIEF AT THE ZOO

JTour boys, three of whom are ten years of ago and one eleven, wore brought before Mr W. G. Hiddell, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged with having broken mallard and Muscovy duck eggs at the Wellington Zoological Gardens. Tho total value of the eggs was A'2 7s Cd. Mr J. O’Shea (city solicitor) said a team of these boys had been going about breaking the eggs in tho park for the past two years. These were the first they had been able to catch. His Worship: Is there anything against tho boys? Mr O'Shea; No, sir. I believe it is pure mischief. They are allowed out at night and early in the mornings. After severely cautioning the boys his Worship discharged them.
