Tho start of tho Trial Handicap saw Fangasse at tlio head of affair's, closely followed by Aurora. After traversing a couple of furlongs tho latter took charge, and from this out the race was a procession, and tho Hawera-trained and Levinowned gelding ran homo a winner by a length and a half from Inveran, who was half a length in front, of Emma. Fangasse, Forcshot and Mount Victoria followed in tho order named.

To Kahurangi was tho quickest to move in tho Railway Handicap. Thetis was badly left, and what chance sho had of winning was spoilt. To Kahurangi won by a length, from Deploy, thus placing tho second win of tho mooting to Mr J. R.. McDonald’s credit. Rill, who does not appear to bo quite ready, was a good third. Emmerson brought First Battery along, and in tho run to the judge's box Mr Davies’ colt won very easily by two lengths from Voetgang, with First Consul a length

away third. Projectile was the nest to finish, with Waipuuui on his quarters. Rangi Thompson moved Scots Fusilier quickly in the Hack Hurdles, and passing the stands on the first circuit his mount led from To Ru and Strathmoira.- Going out of the straight ami around the back Scots Fusilier and To Ru were running abreast, whilst Strathmoira was close behind the jjair. From this out the race resolved itself into a contest between To Ru and Scots Fusilier, the former winning by half a length, with Fond Memory two lengths a-way third. Gaelic was fourth ami Strathmoira a had last. Prior to the start of the Electric Hack Handicap Makara caused some diversion by getting away from his rider and boltlug into adjacent paddocks. He was eventually seemed and started. Our Queen got away smartly, followed by Ahuapai. The race was never in doubt from barrier rise, Our Queen winning with ridiculous case by six lengths from Maknra, who was some distance in front of liongomau. The others wore all tailed oft. At the finish of the race The Officer gelding Septimus was submitted to auction and found a new owner in Mr Whitehouso, the price being fifty guineas.

Brown Trout was in 1 much demand for the Raimi 'Welter. Kina began smartly, closely followed by Brown Trout and Otaliu. The latter took charge at the distance, and, not being afterwards ran homo an easy winner by a length from Foreshot, who came fast and boat Brown Trout by a neck for second place.
