PERFORMING MUSICIANS
INHUSTitIAH UNION. A meeting of the newly-formed Wellington Performing Musicians' Industrial Union of Workers was held at the Trades Hall, Cuba street, yesterday. The necessary number of signatures having been ; obtained, the secretary was authorised; to apply forthwith for registration. The objects of the union are to promote the interests and welfare generally of those dependent upon musical engagements for their livelihood. The following officers were electedPresident, Mr D. McLaren, M.P.; vicepresident, Mr H. Fleming; secretary, Mr B. Hollow; treasurer, Mr W. Platt - ; committee, Messrs J. Dempsey, E. J, King, H. B. Oliver, A. Timmings, and,Mrs J, D. Foley; trustees, Messrs J. Mount and J. H. Gruar.
A vote of thanks was passed to Mr McLaren for his assistance.
