A servant of the French Consul, at Alcazar, was arrested at the door of I his master’s house and forcibly conducted to the Spanish camp. Tho consul was unable to secure his release. A SPANISH EXPLANATION. • AN OVER ZEALOUS OFFICER. (Received July 14, 10.45 p.m.) LONDON. July 14. “Tho Times” Madrid correspondent states that Colonel Sylvester, the Spanish officer commanding at Alcazar, was over zealous when be made the demonstration in the direction of Wazan. The Spanish Government have assured Franco that they ordered Colonel Sylvester not to cross the river.
