ABATTOIRS WORKERS
AGREEMENT ABIUVHD AT, After several protracted conference# before the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr P. Hally, an agreement has been arrived at between the New Zealand Federated Slaughtermen's Association and the employers at the Wellington muni, cipal abattoirs. The agreement will bo filed next week with a view to being mode into an aw-ard. , The week's work is not to exceed fortyfonr hours, with a minimum wage of i£3 10s per week for slaughtermen, and £3 10s for assistant slaughtermen. Casual slaughtermen are to be paid at the rate of 16s per day. Overtime is to be paid for at the rate of time and a half. A scale of , wages for piecework has bcenagreed upon. The following are the holidays to bo observed XJew Tear’s Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day. Birthday of Reigning Sovereign. Good Friday, Easter Monday, and Labour Day; also two other days te bo mutually agreed upon. These to be paid for as if the worker had worked eight hours. All work done on Christmas Day, Good Friday, or on Sundays is te bo paid for at double rates. All work done on any of the otherholidnys is to be paid for at the rate of time and a halt
