INSURANCE INSTITUTE
The AVellington Insurance Institute was resuscitated at a meeting of insurance representatives held on Thursday night, Mr R. J. AVhite presiding. The chairman, in urging the necessity of such an. institute, said insurance work was becoming more and more an educa-
tion and a specialised business, which was a particular reason why the institute should be an educative and live body. Mr Cray, speaking* to a motion, moved by him, "That the Insurance Institute oi' New Zealand bo resuscitated/* pointed out that if a set of capable fire underwriters could be trained, they would ,get rid of the which attached to the Dominion of having the highest firo loss ratio in the world. Mr Didsbury seconded the motion, which was unanimously agreed toOfficers were elected a. 5? follow:—President, Mr R. J. White; vice-presidents, Messrs P, Muter and D. A. Abercrombie; committee, Messrs F. G, Cray, A. 1). Cook, •W. A. Parton, G. Briarley, ]?. Dixon, P. D, Leslie. J. Stevenson, and AV. A. Blair; hon. treasurer, Mr 0. M. Bowden, hon. secretary. Mr P. Cray; hon. auditor, Mr C. D. Morpeth. Monthly meetings will be held during tlie winter.
