HULL ERECTION PETITION

ALLEGED GIFTS OF COAL TO VOTERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, May 24. The hearing of the petition against the return of Sir Henry Seymour King (Unionist) for the Hull Central seat in the House of Commons has opened. Evidence has been given to the effect that gifts of coal were made on the eve of the election, sixty-four of tho re cipients being voters and 136 relatives of voters. Sir Henry King, a well-known banker, has sat for Hull Central since 1885. At the December election ho polled 3625 votes to 5413 cast for Dr It. W. Aske (Liberal).
