UNEMPLOYMENT PROPOSALS WELL FOUNDED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, May 24. Mr Buxton, President of tho Board of Trade, in moving tho second reading of the National Insurance Bill in the House of Commons, denied that the Government’s unemployment proposals were hazardous. They were founded on good actuarial calculations. It was important that a start should be made with the proposals in a. year when there was good trade, in order to accumulate a substantial reserve. GENERAL APPROVAL. (Received May 26, 1 a.m.) LONDON, May 25. Tho National Insurance Bill debate was adjourned, after a general expression of approval of the principle. The measure will be the subject of amendments at a later stage.
