A fire started in the top floor of Watson’s Chambers, in Flinders Lane, and spread rapidly, gutting the third, fourth, and fifth floors, occupied by offices of different firms. Tho damage is over £20,000. There was considerable anxiety for a time, as tho fire was in a densely packed area. (Received May 26, 1.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, May 25. The firemen were in great danger owing to falling roofs and rollings. Insurances include the National of New Zealand, £2OOO.
