THE‘JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS. PRESS ASSOCIATION. LAWRENCE, May 23. ■ The Gabriel's Gully jubilee celebrations were, continued to-day, when tho visiting pioneers were, driven over Gabriel's Gully, Munroe's Gully, : Weatherstones, and Waitahuna, all of which were scenes of great .activity in the early GO’S.’ The weather is holding np splendidly. ' The pioneers on the whole , arc enjoying excellent health. This evening they were entertained at a social gathering, the Hon. R- McKenzie being present. ■To-day a cablegram of greeting was received from Sir Joseph Ward, London. The celebrations are to be continued to-morrow, the programme comprising Empire Day celebrations a sports gathering, and a complimentary dinner and concert in. the evening. , . SIMILAR GATHERING AT THAMES SUGGESTED. THAMES. May 23. A proposal has been made to arrange a gathering of pioneers of the Thames goldfields, similar to the Gabriel Gully reunion.
