QUESTION OF SENIORITY. Captain Richardson, Chief Instructor of Garrison and Field Artillery, loaves for Tauherenikau to-day, to select a site for the D Battery’s shell practice, which is to take place in the district for the. benefit of those taking part in tho training camp. The question of seniority between Lieutenant-Colonel Chaytor, Officer Commanding the Wellington District, and Lieutenant-Colonel Bauchop, now at Home for a course at the Camberley 'Staff College, has been decided by tho Commandant, with the result that Colonel Chaytor is given seniority, and will rank accordingly in the next edition of the "Army List." PURCHASE OF lIORSKS. Captain Young, acting for the New Zealand Defence Department, has purchased nino horses in Waitara, the average price being .£l6. He was assisted in his selection by Captain James Mitchell, n. keen judge of horse flesh. The animals are for use at tho Tauhcrenikau instruction camjfc
