FIRES
A dwelling, owned and. occupied hy, Mr Eobert, Edwards, of Mungaroa valley, was entirely destroyed .by fire at halfpast 10 on Tuesday night. The neighbouring settlers strove valiantly with the flames, but were 'unable to prevent destruction. The house was insured with the New Zealand Insurance Company for .£l5O. ■ A fire broke out at 13, McDonald orescent yesterday morning, but on the arrival of the brigade the flames Were nearly , dead. "Some rubbish stacked in the basement had ignited, and the occupants of the house were able to prevent the fire from spreading.
