The Orari, dne to-day from Lyttelton, will berth at the Glasgow wharf, and will sail on Saturday for London. When the Arahura passed Cable Bay (near Nelson) at 8.45 am. yesterday the Eastern Extension Cable Company's cable repair steamer Patrol was at anchor, apparently preparing for cable repairing work. The vessel has come down from the Indian Ocean, via Launceston, to fix up a damaged cable in the Tasman Sea. At 2.5 p.m. yesterday the Patrol passed Farewell Spit, bound northward. Whan in Tasmanian' waters tho vessel took away the cable and other gear stored at the abandoned station at Low Head. The Government training ship Araokura ©ailed from Wellington yesterday for Timaru* Bluff and the outlying island groups. It will bo' an interesting experience for the boys, a.s the vessel will search the islands for shipwrecked castaways and will examine the supplies at the provision, depots. The vessel will call at Timaru, and will leave there on Monday for Bluff.’ She will sail from Bluff on. the 21st instant for the islands,, and’ is due back at the Bluff on March icth. The Amokura will next visit Dusky Sound to search for the tincharted rock on which the Woikaro was reported to have struck.
