WELLINGTON PONY & GALLOWAY RACING CLUB
FEBRUARY MEETING. FIRST DAY. There were a large number of sporting onthusiasts at Miramax on Saturday afternoon to witness the first day of -the February meeting of the Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club. The sport provided was of an interesting description, and some good finishes wore seen. The starting in Mr Talbut's hands left nothing to be desired. The meeting was well and capably managed by Mr J. M. Cummmg, managing steward and handicapper, and to his efforts the success of the gathering was largely due. There were a large number of the bookmaking fraternity doing business, and the metallioians must have had the best of the deal on the day's transactions. Results: PETONE HANDICAP, Of 25 sovs; for ponies 14.3 hands and under. Five furlongs and a half.
