FKESS ASSOCIATION. OHBISTOHtJECH, February 5. The Canterbury Jockey Club's summer meeting was concluded to-day in fine weather, though a strong west wind blow throughout the afternoon. The attendance was better than on Thursday and racing •was very interesting. Tie ttoalisator investments, however, showed a decrease, tho amount put through being £-1466 as against £6339 last year. Bookmakers' fees amounted to £220. Tho results were as follow: — RICHMOND PLATE, Of 100 kovs; for two-year-olds; five furlongs. F. H. Pyne's ch f Jvora, by Stepniak—Dcmet'cr, 7.S (C. Inside tho distance i;ho was challenged by |Kora, who got up an tiino to win by a good neck. Diroctoiro was three lengths back. Time, lmin 3 2-sscc. Perm weighed out, but while doing hi'> preiuninairy ran into a fence. His rider, S. Murfiw, was badly shaken, and had his wrist broken, and the stewards allowed tho lioi-jO to bo withdrawn. Guianforte showed tho way round the • 'top turn, wihero Nordoif made Ms run but could not sustain it. Lovelorn wont in pursuit of Guianforte, but tho latter held his own and won with something to s-pa.ro by a neck. Outlander was two and a half lengths back, with Nordoff fourth. Time, 2min 12 1-osec. This was tho order throughout, Madam Madcap winning with the utmost ease by five longths. Formless was a length behind Danube, with Crown Derby throe lengths away fourth. Time, lmin 13 4-ssec. ST. Also staorted—Tikitere 8.13, Passion 8.6,, All Guns 7.13, and Gunboat 7.4. _ From a good istart Gunboat and Passion wore first to show out, and they led round ifche top turn with All Guns and Zetland at the head of the others, Gwendolina being last. When well in the straight Gwendolina and Flitaway moved up, and at the distance had singled themselves out. In a good finish Gwendolina won by a head, while Zetland was two lengths back,' with Gunboat half a length, away fourth. Time, lmin 41 3-ssec. SELLING RACE, Of 100 sovs; six furlongs. 'j 0. 1. Alexis and The Seer were the first away and led into the straight. At the distance Tho Seer was beaten, and Alexis won comfortably by three lengths from True Knight, who was two and a naif lengths in front of The Cornet. Time, lmin 15 3-sseo. The winner was bought in for £22. FLYING HANDICAP, Of 100 sovs; five furlongs. J. Griffin's b g Silkweb, by Soult— Cobweb, 8.13 (E. Cotton) ... 1 D. Rutherford's ch f Zemliaj 7.7 (VV. At the distance Silkweb, ' Zernlia, Queen of Spades and Cute were in line, and there was a great race between this quartette.
