There were 178,282 bales catalogued, of which 80,000 bales were sold for .the homo trade, 81,000 for Continental, and 17,000 for American, while 500 were held- over. • The average price of greasy nierinos was fufly maintained at December rates. Fine sorts advanced 6 per cent., amd all scoureds advanced 5 per cent., but finer crossbreds barely maintained their level. Coarser sorts advanced from 5 to TO per cent., topmaking sorts snowing tho. greatest rise. Slips advanced from 5 to 10 per cent. Merino lambs advanced 5 per cent. Tho "Te Pura" clip made up to ll£d per pound and averaged IOJd.
