THE NATIONAL OUTLOOK
(To the Editor "A'.Z. Times.")
Sir,—ln the present state of the world, when so much unrest prevails in nearly every country and the minds of tho greatest thinkers and statesmen are exorcised as to what will be the outcome, of it all, ft- certainly comes as a great consolation to find that a possible solution may be found m the pages of the grand old book ths Bible. 1 have taken the liberty of sending you a pamphlet ("The Destiny of th? British Empire as revealed in the Scriptures"), which unfolds such a wonderful consummation and reveals such a picture of glorious possibilities that it makes one's heart rejoice at the prospect. ■Certainly there seems ample cause for anxiety in view of the great activity manifested by every nation to be prepared and ready for the great national b-oiib&es that seem to be looming ahead. It is bjyond human comprehension in this age of enlightenment why the people should be so burdened as they are to uphold the great armies and navies for the purpose of mutual slaughter.—l am, ° °" DAILY BEADKU. Wellington, January 3rd.
