After the New Plymouth show Mr Newton King held a sale of pedigree Jersey stock, when it was clearly demonstrated that tho Jersey is the popular breed among the dairymen of the orovince at tho present time. Linn gavo 35Jgs for a thirteen-montha lieifer, 32gs for a two-year heifer, 24-Jgs for a three-year cow, 20gs for a yearling heifer. A. Buchanan, Palmerston, gave 25igs for a five-year cow and 29gs for a fifteen-months bull; a yearling bull mado 22gs, a two-year the same money and another yearling 20gs. k . P. H. E. Surrey, of Te-Ane, also realised good prices for liis heifers as well as for his young bulls. His best salo was a fifteen-months heifer to A. Hodgkinson, Nelson, at 24-Vgs; J. Gleeson (Urenui) paying 20gs for a sixteenmo nths heifer; C. Ciairke, logs for .a thirteen months heifer; and C. iG-oodson, logs for a heifer calf. Tho 'best price for bulls was lsigr> for a 'thirteon-month's animal; bull calves made from sigs to lHgs. Tho two-year-old bull,'Marcus, of J. Goddes, Bell Block, was sold to T. Linn, of Man,££atoki. at 50gs. Wallaco Bros., of Auckland, made 24gs for a seven-year-old cow, 18gs for ■another seven year cow, and 17gs for iam eight-year cow.
