' It is stated that there is an enorjmous quantity of feed for stock in tho JlOiikoura district, Marlborough. Conjaiderablo areas have been closed for '.cocksfoot seed. The fleeces being collected by the 1 Department of Agriculture in Canterbury are intended fox the Dutch Department of Agriculture. The collection included fleeces from Corriedalo, JBordev Leicester, English Leicester, |and Southdown flocks. It ..was proposed to make a public of an illuminated address to Mr James Milne, the late president •of the National Dairy Association of the South in recognition of his ,many years' services as president and a member of the executive of _ the I association. It has now been decided |to make tho -presentation privately lowing to Mr Milne's poor state of health. Our correspondent, reports that the clover crops in the Masterton district are looking well, and there should be a good yield. There is not a very ilsirge area sown down. Though there is plenty of grass in the district, settlers are complaining that lambs are |not topping off as well as they should !do. This is said to be accounted for 'by the fact that there is a considerable amount of moisture in the grass. I
