RINGING THE CHANGES ON MARS
CANALS OBSCURED AND POLAR CAP FRACTURED. Dy Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received October 29, 9.10 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. Tho Astronomical Society reports that recent observations of Mars show that a gloomy yellow veil enshrouds immense tracts, obliterating the canal markings. In August last the southern polar cap was observed to bo fractured, and a brilliant spot covered one dusky area. Scientific circles are much interested in these observations.
