The Shah’s troops, after penetrating through the outer guards and pushing right up to the loopholes of beta Khan’s (leader of. the revolutionary reform party) defences, were repulsed ivitli considerable loss. Hand bombs were used by the defenders to such good effect as to create a panic among the besiegers.
