HUTT COURT.
At the Lower Hutt Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Edwin Burgess and Ihilip N. Cameron, partners, were charged, on the information of Dairy inspector Ward, with keeping pigs withm fifty yards of a dairy Mr Drummond nproared on behalf of tho Crown. The defendant Cameron appeared, and ttated that the offence was unintentional, ills children had turned a litter, which, had escaped from the piggery, into a disused stye whilst h© was away *rom home. A fine of 10s was imposed, with costs. , , , ... ' W. R. Hurne pleaded guilty to an. assault on W. J. Gorry, for whom Mr Wilford appeared. Defendant was fined £\ and costs, George Windrum was fined 10s for drunkenness. Four defend %nts were each fined 2s, with 7s costs, for broaches of the Truancy Act. Thomas Mclntosh, charged with failing to comply with an < order for the support of his wife, being .£44 8s in arrears, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
Peter Doonon and George Haslam were charged with being found on licensed promises, the Railway Hotel, on Sunday, March loth. Each defendant was fined .£1 and 7s costs.
