A STITCH IN TIME.
PUBLIC DISASTER FUND. The New South Wales Premier has conceived the idea that the best way to utilise the surplus of jEWOO subscribed to the Mount js.embla. and Bulli Belief Funds is to use the money as the nucleus of a Public Disaster, Fund, and ho intends introducing a Bill with that object. The proposal is expected to meet with opposition from the bouth Coast, as when the residents subscribed so liberally it was on the undcretandins that the money was to be used for the relief of the miners’ wives and families only, the general feeling being that the funds should have been managed locally. The matter is to bo taken up by Mr T. B. Nicholson, M.L.A., on behalf of the people,
