SCHOOLS MATCH. Th* following will represent the Wellington primary schools against the Wairarapa District High Schools at Carterton. on Saturday next:Cotton (Newtown), Mills (Lower Hutt), Aickiu (Normal), Griffiths, captain (Brooklyn), Kells (Kilbirnie), Tandy (Te Aro), Mitchell .olyde quay), Thompson (Terrace), Kirkcr ('terrace), Adair (Mount Cook), Williamson (Mount Cook); emergencies, Pointoh (Petone), Hewitt (Clyde quay), Baldwin (Brooklyn), Dumbleton (Kilbirni#).
The boys will go up on Friday night, and will be tho guests of the Carterton boys till Monday afternoon. This will be th© twelfth annual match. Eight have bean won by Wellington and two by Wairarapa. The last match was a tie. \ TO MEET THE VISITORS. The team to represent the Wellington schoolmasters against the New South Welshmen on Boxing Day at the College ground will be selected from the following:—Arcus, Burns, Bee, Beechey, Darroch, Dempsey, Erskine, Fanning, Griffiths, Kean, Mason, Melody, Monaghan, Harris, Rodgers, Ward, Wedde. A practice match between the masters and the boys was held at the Basin, when the masters won by 14 runs. Masters —Mason 11, Arcus 20, Griffiths 17, Dempsey 19. Mason and Kean bowled well for the masters. Boys— Tandy 26, Thompson 23. Kirker bowled splendidly for the boys. WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. An ordinary meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association was Meld last evening, Mr C. A. Richardson presiding. A letter was received from the Umpires' Association complaining of delay which had occurred in starting matches. —lt was decided to instruct the secretary to notify clubs that the rules with regard to commencing championship games would be strictly enforced. It was decided, on tho motion of Mr S. Jacobs, that a day’s play in any championship game must consist of not less than two hours’ play. The following men are requested by the Selection Committee of tho association to obtain as much practice as possible in view of the representative matches at Christmas and New Year against Otago and Canterbury:—Mac hony, C. Hickson, Upham, Williams. J. P. Blacklock, C. P. Blacklock, Tucker, Monaghan, Beechy, Waters, Laws, Gibbos, Coberoft, Brice, Ashbolt, Gourlay, McKay, S. Hickson, Hales, and
1 Fisher. Tho team will not be picked for some time yet. MATCH AT WERAROA. A cricket team representing the Education Department journeyed to Weraroa on Saturday and met defeat at the hands of the Weraroa Boys' Training Farm by an innings and 24 runs. For tho winners Eggletoa (18), Fenton (28) and Penrose (21) batted best. Eggleton and Sullivan shared the bowling honours, the former securing eight wickets for 25 runs and six for 18. For the losorsBorcndscu (12), McClune (12 not out) and Orr (10) wore the only batsmen to obtain double figures. Berendsen and Orr bowled best for the department. CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES AT AUCKLAND. PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, December 2. The third round of the Cricket Cup Championship was eventful for big 1 scores. In tho City-Grafton match the ; former closed with six wickets down for 380, and Grafton; replied with 193 runs (Audinwood-53 not out, and Clayton 25). Following on, they made 130 runs for three wickets (Clayton 53 not out, and Graham 33). City won bn the first innings by 187 runs. North Shore closed with eight wickets down for 290 runs. Parnell could only respond with 106 runs, and on following on lost four wickets for 90 runs. North r Shore thus won on the first innings by 184 runs.
Eden had an easy/win over Poiaeonby by an innings and 71 runs. Ponsonby were all out in the first innings for IXO runs, and Eden lost two wickets for 287 runs (Elliott 10G not out, and Relf 85 not out). Ponsonby, in their second innings, made 106 for eight wickets, two being absent.
