RIFLE-SHOOTING.

THE MANAWATU MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON NORTH, November 8. The Monawatu Rifle Association's foiirtk annual “shoot” was concluded to-day in fine weather. Some splendid shooting was done, the standard being ahead of anything recorded in previous years. Two possibles were put up—by Riflcmau W. Wlnslado (Optaki) and Sergeant Duloy (Da.nnevirke) — at the 600 yards range. , Only live teams entered in tho Champion Teams’ Match, but great interest waa evinced in the shooting. d?he win of tho Linton Rifle Club was popular. Another interesting match was the Grand Aggregate, won by Winslade (Opaki). The next four men all tied for second place, and had to shoot off to decide what was to be their order. Winslade also won the Ferguson Aggregate Match, the figures in which were compiled from tho scores in tho first three matches on the programme, with the exception of the 70D yards range. Tho chief prize-winners in to-day's matches were:—
