WELLINGTON CYCLING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The fifteenth animal meeting of the Wellington Cycling Club was hold at the rooiiuj last evening. There was a large attendance* the provident (Dr Izard) being in the chair. Following is the annual report, which was adopted: Your committee expressed itd thanks to tho club’s president, Dr Izard, for tho great interest which ho hew taken in the management of the club’s affairs during the past year. During tho year thirty-seven new members were elected, and fourteen resignations received, tho membership now standing at 238, Four vacancies occurred on the committee by the resignations of Messrs K. Annit. 0. Hamilton. 11. Moon, and M. Phelan. Misers W. Hayward, t>. .1 ato’is, G. Lauchlan, and 0.0 lUaso were looted to till the vacancies. The club’s billiard championship was again won by Mr W. A. Fordham for the fourth consecutive year. Your committee arranged with the landlord to make extensive alterations in the club's premises.' which necessitated an outlay of over =£2oo. and it is hoped that tho members fully appreciate tho advantages derived from tho alterations, and will approve of tho committee's action in taking the promises for a further period of five years. Tho persistent efforts of tho committee to obtain registration of the new rules were not successful till near* the end of the financial year. Now that registration has been obtained, the clnb is in a position to take legal action to recover outstanding subscriptions, and has already done so. although the results have been only fairly succwsful. there being not sufficient time to get the amount of outstanding subscriptions reduced appreciably. It is, however,' hoped that the incoming committee null use its best efforts in this direction. Your committee entered two of tho members—Messrs M. J. Donnelly and W. A. Fordham—to represent the club in the Crystallite Cup championship, hut neither were successful in raining the coveted’championship. It will be observed that tho expenditure on tho billiard-tables for tho jpast year is rather in excess of previous years, your committee recognising, that to ensure best results tho table* must be kept in a thorough good condition. Your committee acknowledged with thanks donations from the following gentlemen r —Dr Izard, Messrs H. G. Smith, IV. Hnvward, A. Laurenson, ■ H. Mayer, H. Moon, and H. Thomas.
