HUTT VALLEY TROTTING CLUB
The annual meeting of the Hutt Valley Trotting Club was held last evening, Mr Edwards presided. The chairman's annual report stated that the club, during the five years of its existence, had seen many vicissitudes, * and was still living from hand-to-mouth. Mr Coulter, auditor to the club, read the' annual balance-sheet, which showed receipts amounting to <£sl7 16s lid, added to which was a cash balance from last year of £1 10s 9d, making the total receipts <£sl9 7s Bd. The expenditure left a balance in hand of' .£65 16s lid, out of which they had to pay £B4 12s for printing and advertising, which ought to have been’ paid out of • last year's receipts. Mr Bennington (secretary) tendered his resignation, and stated that ho would be pleased 'to* render* his successor all the help ho could. The report and balance-sheet were adopted.
On the motion of Mr Short, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded' to Mr Bennington for his services as secretary, and-he was made , a life member of the. club.
