COUNTED OUT. MELBOURNE, August 25. The Federal Government lost control of both Houses yesterday. The House of Representatives wad _ counted out over the Bounties Bill, and the Senate on the defence discussion. LOCAL OPTION. HOBART, August 25. Tha vital clause of the Local Option Bill—that providing for a general poll at election times—has been struck out, practically killing th© measure.
