MR ZANGWILL AND JEWISH MASSACRES.
Mr Israel Zangwill, the popular Ixmdon author, thus expresses himself | apropos of tho Jewish masacrc.s in ' Russia, and tho international relief movement inaugurated'to alleviate the f sufferings of tho survivors:— Tho horrors of a hundred Bartholomews are in full carousal, and the American Jewish bankers have at last : discovered that -words aro a vain tinkling, and paper protests, oven when stamped with tho sign of tho dollar, aro an idlo folly. In tho presence of tho volcanic forces of human nature money can do nothing. President Roosevelt can do nothing. Minister Witto can do nothing. It is a valuable lesson for tho Jewish philanthropists. oven though it costs 5000 lives and 50,000 horrors to teach them. A people can only bo saved by itself. Tho Jews must save themselves or perish. Tho Russian docs not want tho Jew for a brother. Ho does not want tho Jew to “assimilate-’ himself to him as tho philanthropic parrots preach. Ho does not want the Jew to Help him to freedom. Ho is jealous oven of the Jew’s success ns a revolutionist. But tho leaders of Jewry, tho so-called practical men still hug their vain and mischievous dream. Emancipation for tho Jew can only bo acquired on paper. The Jews must leave Russia. slowly or swiftly. They must build a State for themselves. They must face nature—savage nature—but less savage than tho Russian masses. An organisation already exists for this great gradual migration—tho JewTerritorial Organisation. Under the auspices of tho British Government it will deliver tho Jews from their liussian bondage and make thorn a free people. Your American bankers have hastened to pour out gold. Our Lord Rothschild says tho English Jews will give gold. Poor philanthropists! always locking tho stable when tho horse is stolen! Will nothing move them but tho sight of rivers of blood, of mountains of mutilated corpses? Will
they never open their hearts and their purses at the sight of the living —tho young men and women inspired with tho living wish to go out and build up a now Land of Israel?
HIS EXPERIENCE. Mr A. T. Beale, of Beale Bros., Oakey (Q.), says:—*'l con recommend Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera, ond Diarrhoea Remedy to all troubled with diarrhoea or bowel complaints, for I have used it for these complaints myself and was cured. Have persuaded my friends to give it a trial, and in every instance a cure was effected." For sa!o by all chemists and storekeepers.
