PRESS ASSOCIATION. BEEFTON, November 2. Big River mine manager reports for tho week:—No. 8 stope looking well. Reef is 32ft long, and averages 2ft wide, and in one place it is oft wide. There is also some stone benching into footwall. From appearances reef is lengthening and widening, as stoping up proceeds. Quality of stone is very good, and is still carrying water in intermediate slopes. Top stope has lengthened to 26ft from pass in a north-west direction. Reef is broken and irregular. Raised 50 tons for week. Battery is running tlirGo shifts, and monthly clcan-up takes place on Saturday. The Takaka Sluicing Company reports a return of 220 z gold for 17 days’ sluicing.
