Tho Customs revenue received yesterday totalled £3020 2s Bd.
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company has received the following cablegram from London, dated Ist inst.: —We quote present spot values for tho following descriptions of tallow; —Fine mutton 325, good beef 28« Cd, mixed 26s 9d per cwt; market active. COMERCIAL CABLES, muss association. LONDON, November 1. Silver, 2s 4 15-16 d per oz. With ttio decreasing imports of leather a general shortage is likely to cause a considerable advance in prices. At the tallow sales, mutton, fine, realised 34s 3d; medium, 29s 6d; beef, fine, 29s 9d ; medium, 27s 6d. HIDES AND TALLOW. (Received November 2, 9.45 p.m.) MELBOURNE, November 2. Hides arc very firm, and all lines arc selling- Kips show a slight advance. Tallow has advanced 10s per ton.
