Rain fell throughout tho match played by tho New Zealanders against Surrey at Richmond to-day, and tho final stages wero played in a very heavy storm. Tho local men made a good defence in the first half, which was characterised by evenness of play. Tho only score was a try obtained by Roberts, which Gillctt converted, tho spell ending:— New Zealand, 5; Surrey, 0. In tho second spell tho visitors pressed their opponents continuously, except for an occasional rush of the Home forwards. Corbett and McGregor crossed tho lino, but the kicks at goal failed.
