MUNICIPAL APPOINTMENTS.

(To the Editor “N.Z. Times.”) Sir, —This morning you announced the appointment of a man who lives in Sydney to the post of Town Clerk at Dunedin. Can nothing be done to stop practices of this sort? You have had something to say about tho “meanness of our rich.” This latest instance of municipal patriotism affords an opportunity for a few well-chosen remarks about the unspeakahleness of Mayor's and City Councillors. The same tiring is done in Now Zealand over' and over again.—I am, etc., NEW ZEALANDER. October 26th.
