WELLINGTON AND SUBURBAN CLUB. The Wellington and Suburban Coursing Club has received a satisfactory response from owners for its third meeting—the last of the season in the colony—to be held at the Trenthara Plulnpton on Wednesday and Thursday next. The Wellington Plate, for novices, drew an entry ot thirty, including Auckland and Dunedin-owned dogs. The draw took place at the New Zealander Hotel last night, and was largely attended. At the calling of the card liberal prices were offered. The Wel-lington-owned dog Dum Dum was a good favourite, all the 4’s and 3’s to 1 being accepted about his chance. He was also fancied . in doubles with Labui nniu. wno drew a bye. lor the St. Leger. Tub draw resulted as follows,: Wellington Plato, for thirty dogs at jBl 5s each- winner to receive £2O, and a piece of plate donated by Messrs Miller and Lewis,, ol WeUing.ton; runner-up £5, and two dogs at £2 each.
