HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The Hurt Borough Council met last evening. Present-The Mayor (Mr Mo- ■ Donald), Councillors Clark. Croft. Ward, Mason. O’Sullivan. Baldwin. Clere. Terex, and Hobbs. ’ CORRESPONDENCE.' ' The Wellington Hospital Board wrote in reference to a bill promoted by the Horowhenua County Council fop the purpose of .establishing a separuto hospital district for Horowhenua. aud further stating that the following resilvdion- had been passed .by the Board That the Hospital Board, being an administrative body, deem it right that the several contributing bodies should deal with the matter, it being one of .policy affecting their interests, and that if the pill passed the right of the Wellington Hospital Board to exercise the powers vpstcd : in it to take . land under the Public Works Act. in- Otaki, for the puipbse of the sanitorium would be imperilled, and until the necessary land is acquired, the Board felt that the proposal to create a separate hospital district should not be given effect to.’’—Decided no action Bo taken a i present.
