AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE

TO OPEN TO-DAY. There will bo twenty-six agricultural societies represented at the conference which is to open at the Museum Buildings at 10 o’clock this morning.

The chair will ho taken by Mr P. Pattullo, of Otago, who will report on the business of the last conference, hold at Dunedin two years ago, and a chairman for the conference will then bo elected.

Tho Hon T. Y. Duncan, Minister of Agriculture, the So Cretan’ to the department, and heads of divisions will all ho present, as well as a number of outside gentlemen who are recognised as experts in rural affairs, and members of Parliament- Members of the University Senate, tho Education Department, tho Education Committee of tho House, and o thers interested have been invited to attend. Mr Edwin Hall, of Auckland, is secretary for the conference. His Excellency the Governor is expected to attend the lecture by Dr Truby King this evening on " Agricultural Education in Japan.” The address will be followed by a discussion on the same subject as applied to Now Zealand.

The order-paper and list of delegates were published in our issue of the 10th inst.
