MILITARY CONSPIRACY.
FRENCH CAPTAIN ARRESTED. PARIS, April 6. Captain Tamburini, a half-pay officer, has been arrested in Paris on a charge of being concerned in a conspiracy resembling the Malet conspiracy in 1812 (in which General Malet headed a conspiracy against Napoleon, which, however, was unsuccessful, and cost Malet his life). Captain Tamburini had five hundred uniforms and eight thousand cartridges concealed in a garret. A CORSICAN ADVENTURER. AN AMBITIOUS SCHEME. (Received April 7, 10.8 p.m.) PARIS, April 7. Captain Tamburini is a Corsican. His mysterious plot was not seriously regarded originally, but one or two officers report that overtures were made to them to join in an attempt to seize President Loubet and the members of the Government, and overthrow the Republic in favour of Prince Victor Napoleon. An inquiry is now proceeding.
