President Roosevelt has been presented by an admirer with a bed quilt composed 22,642 different pieces of material. The pattern represents the national colours. A flock of turkeys strayed on the line of the London and North-Western railway at Westbnry. between Buckingham and Banbury, and half a dozen of them were killed. Myriads of frogs covering the railway lino' stopped a heavy goods train near Spokane, Washington. The rails became so slippery that 2S7lb of sand and an extra engine were rcqnired before the train could be restarted.
