HUNDREDS OF HORSES STARTLED MILITARY MANOEUVRES DISTURBED. (Received September 5, 11 p.m.) LONDON, September 5. A remarkable happening occurred in connection with military manoeuvres at Baadesley North. A horse belonging to the Bth Hussars broke one of Us legs, and a veterinary surgeon shot it in the horse lines. This was responsible for five hundred of the animals taking part in the movements becoming panic-stricken. They rushed through a barbed-wire feuoe, many being severely wounded. The bulk of the liorsds traversed the camp of the 11th Hussars, and here five hundred more stampeded. Seventytraversed Winchester, and two hundred plunged into Southampton. Some wore drowned and others broke their legs and necks. Twenty wore found dead and two hundred are missing.
