Mr Kidson, State Treasurer, in an interview, predicted the insolvency of every State in the Commonwealth unless an arrangement was arrived at with the Commonwealth to set aside a fixed percentage of the Customs revenue. It was absolutely necessary, he said, that a fixed proportion should bo placed at the disposal of eacli State, to enable Treasurers to calculate what their revenue would ha each month.
