ALEXANDRA HALL.
Tho Alexander Hall, Abel Smith street, was opened last evening on the occasion of tho annual ball of tho City Rinea. 'i’bo building (late the Scots Church) has been completely changed, mere is a capital floor for dancing, and an apartment has been specially erected for supper room and kitchen. At tho entrance two dressing rooms have been fitted with all requirements. ‘ \Tho hall is ono of the most up-to-date in the city for social gatherings, tbo accommodation being sufficient for 150 couples. The supper room contains seat ng for over one hundred persons. Mr Dwyer has spared no expense in fitting the premises. The plumbing was done by Messrs -riidd and Randell, and Mr Evans, ot Cuba street, was me decorator. The addition of such a hall to tho places for public gatherings and amusement will be welcome, and already many important annual events have been booked to take place in it during the season. Mr Dwyer has been congratulated upon his enterprise. An epo was received last night from b.r Joseph Ward for bis inability to bo present to open tho hall.
