VOLUNTEERS.
The first and the last daylight parade of the Wellington battalion was held at Miramar on Saturday afternoon. Lieut.Colonel Collins was in charge. The Admiral and Janie Scddon conveyed the men across the bay. On arrival at Jlirama. the. parade was marched to the head of, , Evan’s Bay. There the men were extended ,and outpost and ~ skirmishing duties were carried out across country to Lyell Bay and back. A noticeable feature of this parade was that none of the officers carried a sword, and some of the N.CO/s sported a swag-ger-stick instead of a rifle. However, the parada was a successful one, and it is thought that all the companies were well enough represented to earn the gratuity allowed by the Government for daylight parades- ' ■'
